hii, I hv a server on RH 7.1 which serves http, ftp and sendmail service for intranet as well as internet users. Currently I hv configured may firewall to drop any SYN packets coming on any other port. But I hv seen so much requests coming on port 113 (AUTH PORT) and getting dropped. I hv heared Sendmail requires port 113 sometimes. SO is it necessroy to open port 113 for proper functionality. Is there any security risc in opening that port...
