Port 113 = identd.  No particular hassle leaving that port open.

In any case, all you need to do is to config sendmail to set identd timeout
to zero seconds ... set confTO_IDENT in sendmail.mc and rebuild the cf file.

define(`confTO_IDENT',0)

Or simply forget it and open up the identd port, no hassle.
