Hi, I guess this is another case of the 1024 cylinder lilo limit.. try to boot from a floppy or use loadlin and install the latest ver of lilo ( www.freshmeat.com should give you the link ) . Also, i havent tried grub or xosl whihc i think do not give the 1024 cylider prob -ritesh
PS: incase you do not know.. if your /boot is beyond the 1024 cylinder on your disk lilo might giev problems... I think you should try a diff boot manager --- nill_trivedi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello everyone, > > I use compaq Deskpro series celeron PC with 20 GB > seagate UDMA HDD, 64 mb SDRAM. > > I've already installed win98 in 6 GB of my Seagate > HDD. > > Whenever I install Red Hat Linux 7.00 on my 4 GB > Unpartitioned space & Install Lilo in MBR it doesn't > work on next reboot although installation finishes > without any problems. when I try to boot from linux > bootdisk it shows the "1x10" error. > > Please guide me through this problem. > > - Nilesh Trivedi > > On next reboot LILO doesn't install at all > > > Get Your Private, Free E-mail from Indiatimes at > http://email.indiatimes.com > > Buy Music, Video, CD-ROM, Audio-Books and Music > Accessories from http://www.planetm.co.in > > > _______________________________________________ > linux-india-help mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
