o You need to remove your old (rpm) installed sendmail. o 'make install' of tarball will not update your rpm package database. To have this updated, use a script called "checkinstall". See LOST below. It is linked on www.freshmeat.net as well. o Alternatively, if you know how to make a rpm from a self made binary tarball, you can install your comp- iled binary using rpm itself.
