Yes. Since today morning I kept on getting the message no mails. I have
subscribed to LI, LIG and debian-user. For me to get no messages,
assuming that all the three lists go down simulataneously, is far
fetched. On a hunch I tried the poppy and I could see all the messages.

Here goes. My modified .fetchmailrc is as below:
defaults
forcecr
poll pop.net4india.com with proto pop3 no dns uidl
user z1585531-001 with password xxxx
keep
fetchall
scratch@brahman:~$ fetchmail -v
fetchmail: 5.9.3 querying pop.net4india.com (protocol POP3) at Thu Nov 29 01:34:36

fetchmail: POP3< +OK Cubic Circle's v1.31 1998/05/13 POP3 ready

fetchmail: POP3> STAT
fetchmail: POP3< +OK 0 0
fetchmail: No mail for z1585531-001 at pop.net4india.com
fetchmail: POP3> QUIT
fetchmail: POP3< +OK Was it as good for you, as it was for me? (clean as a baby)
fetchmail: 5.9.3 querying pop.net4india.com (protocol POP3) at Thu Nov 29 01:34:42
2001: poll completed
fetchmail: normal termination, status 1
scratch@brahman:~$
So, it is still the same.
Messages are not marked read. Net4india has so far been working
satisfactorily. Suddenly this problem. Assuming that it is a server
problem, would it respond in different ways to different programs?
Poppy could see all the messages. Found getmail on the web. Could
download all the messages without trouble. Why only fetchmail?
