I did not get 8.11.6 from sendmail.org. I downloaded it from redhat ftp, it is there in redhat linux7.2 's rpm folder. While installing, it gives dependecy problem in libcrypto.so.2 ( in pcq linux 7.1 there is libcrypto.so.1) libdb .... ( this is also an old version in 7.1) libssl ..... ( this is also an old version in 7.1)
I found that these can be solved by installing new openssl and db from redhat linux 7.2) but linux is not allowing me to install openssl because other packages are dependent on libcrypto.so.1 , it is also not allowing me to upgrade or erase -> install new package. I have not tried with the tar.gz file from sendmail.org i have 8.12.... in that case, which needs to be compiled. i will try it today if it can work..
