I guess much better answer would 'man hier' on BSD systems. Not sure of exact man pages as I haven't touched BSD for long... but BSD has lot of things in documentation etc. which linux should have like 'man tuning'. > this is because I just dont seem to understand where all the files are > installed by the various rpms. man rpm Do something like this. $ rpm -ql <rpm name> To find all rpms installed, $ rpm -qa | more > - Where is jdk installed?? or is it under another name?? I don't think any distro has bundled jdk with it. PCQ may have provided it on some CD. etter get hands on a latest version from blackdown/IBM. Sun JDK for linux is not as good even if it's blackdown essentially.. And have some sensible subject, that's to be polite...
