All the configuration programs I've seen, including xf86config and
XF86Setup, use supplied (or detected) video RAM and monitor
capabilities to generate the list of feasible resolutions and colour
depths. Tell them you have a monitor which does 30-80 KHz horizontal
and 40-150 Hz vertical and they'll happily provide you with all
possible resolutions (as long as you have enough video RAM).
