Thanks Bish. I tried the above string in minicom. But the problem here is the string is sent to the modem which is indicated by the blinking of lights of the modem, but the modem is not sending the OK response. Will go through the US Robotics Manual for the init strings and try again with Minicom. Dlink worked fine.
