Hi To view what are all the services on/off by default when system boots use
#chkconfig --list Now to ON one particular service say squid by default. #chkconfig squid on In Redhat 7.x series too the services all are started from /etc/rc.d/init.d/service-name start/stop/restart/status Only the concept of superserver has been changed to xinetd. earlier it was in /etc/inetd.conf ; Now it is in /etc/xinetd.d dir which contains whatever service is on/off. e.g for telnet there is a corresponding file /etc/xinetd.d/telnet Regards -Yash Waqar Ali Khan wrote: > Hello All > > In Red Hat linux 6.2 to start services used this command > /etc/rc.d/init.d/squid start > > but in Linux 7.2 i can't find whow to start services. > > please solve this problem. thanks > > _________________________________________________________________ > MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: > http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx > > _______________________________________________ > linux-india-help mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help -- Yashpal Nagar Sys admin Delhicall Centres GGN _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
