Hi friends,
I used to get long junk message on shutdown.
I have managed to solve the problem,
But I am getting some other error.
Thanks to shridar for letting me know that its
Kernel panic.
I have solved the problem by turning the
Advanced Power Management(APM) off.
To do this,login as root, edit /etc/lilo.conf
Add the following line
append = "apm=off"
save and exit,
then do #lilo -v
Shutdown the machine and turn off the power,
before using it.
Now my kenel doesn't panic on shutdown.But
now my lilo don't appear when I select Linux
in NT Bootloader.
I just see LIL- on top left corner. I have to
press cntrl+alt+del
<lilo.conf>
boot="/dev/hda"
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
restricted
password=tiger
timeout="50"
message=/boot/message
linear
append="apm=off"
default=dos
image="/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.2-2"
label="linux"
read-only
root="/dev/hdc3"
other=/dev/hda1
optional
label="dos"
</lilo.conf>
Bye
Liyju
