Does this happen in gnome  ? I had same problem  before . I was using Java (Java
Media Framework ) but that used to work when I restarted the program (I did not
reboot)?

sys conf : RH7.1 motherboard : 815i celeron 433  snd driver is default
configured by sndConfig

Any kind of information with regards to this will be helpful
