IMO that's a wrong question to ask. You should be asking how do I make stable hardware.. branded or not. Get a stable mobo, like intel/mercury etc. Get a good NIC like Intel eepro. and good HDD like seagate.. That should mke a prety solid box.. And yes, do some maintenance periodically.. helps many times.. On branded side Compaq/HP are offering good PCs for 40K or so.. Take your pick.. In short, anything would do as long as it works..
