Yeah - setting the fill column to 72 should work, as his problem is that
pine tends to lose a lot of formating once you exit from emacs ...
Now, if he uses supercite-mode, 72 columns is going to be woefully
inadequate, leading to a lot of nested threads being hopelessly mangled ..
