heheheh hohohoho hehehehe.. Even my redHat5.2 shipped with PCQ march 1999 came 
with checksums of each package... Every distro I know shipps checksums of 
packages and isos.

IIRC, in debian you can add checksum verification even before apt considers a 
package for installation.. Same goes for other distros. RPM does have a flag to 
verify checksum. If admin is sleeping then anyways indian beurocracy help 
him(God doesn't seem to be that omnipotent)

And about enabling telnet, if OS has to restrict access to telnet because admin 
might enable it, you need another admin, not another distro..

Easy and definitely should be done for every install..

Goes for every OS on the earth. It's just that some OS's are easy to be secured 
like linux/BSD and some are not..
