This has always been a bother. I usually install a custom system and then add on whatever software I want or is needed when trying to load some new software. When I need to load any rpm, I have to search for it on all the CDs.
What I have now done is cat the output of ls of the RPMS directory to a text file and name these files cd1, cd2 etc. Then it's just a matter of grepping thru the file which is a list of the rpms on a particular CD and then only mounting that CD. Does anyone have a more elegant solution to this ? I am using RH 8. sorry if this seems an inane query. Sharukh. -- Dr. Sharukh K. R. Pavri.
