Hmm. Run crontab -e (as root). Enter this as it is: 30 17 * * * /sbin/ifdown eth1 30 08 * * * /sbin/ifup eth1 This assumes the interface to shutdown/start is eth1. It shuts the interface down at 5:30 PM (17:30) and brings it back up at 8:30 AM.
