no, i dont have any firewall enabled on my slave server. I am running openBSD3.3 and in the /etc/rc.conf file, default value is set as pf=NO BIND versions on master and slave are same, just in case, if might have missed out this point.
You did permit all possible IPs on your slave server to have access to your master, right? (assuming you have more than one IP bound to your slave)
