We are running four netware LAN's at four offices totaling to 40 odd workstations. Till date we have converted half of the workstations at one location on Linux. But this was a pilot cum training conversion. For all office productivity we are using OpenOffice and even on the workstations running windows we have made this as our standard. In the six months we have received a good amount of support from the list but basic initiative had been ours and persistence - lots of it. Having come this way for nine months now we are launching linux base for all our LAN's and by end of the current financial we will achieve this objective. One major issue with free software is that I find most of us just trying to receive benefits of free / open software without trying to contribute any thing in a major way. Please note I am saying most.....but there are many who are helpful and knowledgeable and are actively contributing to free software development.
