I just deleted all partitions and recreated them at exactly the same
boundaries (except for the last one).

Deleting partitions doesn't delete files. No trick here.

Undoubtedly but again.. this is a dangerous manuever.. As they say it on TV, 'Kids.. Don't do this at home!!!'.

Any mistake in marking partitions boundaries correctly and disk is almost dead..
