I am using RedHat 9. Since the last couple of weeks I am getting some
wierd errors in /var/log/messages. When I sent these to the list,
someone mentioned that this was a kernel oops (whatever that means).
These errors come at irregular intervals. I am not doing anything
spectacular at these times.
I usually have openoffice, konqueror, konsole (3-4 instances), jpilot
open all the time. I don't do any compiling on this machine. I
occasionally have xmms playing some ogg file.
The release notes for RedHat 9 says that the kernel no longer requires
ksymoops.
What do I do next ?
As an aside, I intend to uprade to Fedora core 2 soon. Should I still
try to chase down what is causing these kernel errors ?
thanks,
Sharukh.
