Your finding is correct. ppplogin file was made as described. But in
login.config file was having login instead of ppplogin.  Still my
problem is not solved. Now after correction of above,  i have started
the system for remote login and went ot my office and tried to connect
using win95 dun. I got the msg that computer I dialed disconnected.
After coming home I studied the log of messages and mgetty.log.ttyS1.

however my hosts file is as follows.

Kindly tell me further where I have gone wrong. Any more info needed
will be given by me.
