Bilal has aptlyn put out what I meant.
Or for that matter even your windows data. It basically protects the
data contents of your HDD upto an extent ( Dunno upto
which extent ;-)

But I guess what Mr Khader means is that when you have a dualboot machine
with Microsoft and you encounter a virus in Windows of the kind of CIH
which
loves to wipe first 1MB [not sure] of your hard disk, you can inadvertently
destroy your Linux data.
