However, looking at the patch, it is probably based on some older kernel version. Do you think that you could redo it, so that it applies on top of 2.6.25-rc1? There were some slight changes in handling of Apple keyboards in HID (see commit a45d82d19a6c2a717bcc33cff243199b77fa0082), so it would require some trivial modifications.
