*** There is a 2.2.12 irda3 patch which will (most likely/hopefuly) work
for you. There is also some support in native 2.2.12 but that didn't work
for me. 2.2.12 + irda3 also needs 0.9.4 irda-utils which do not quite
compile (as you have noted, and are, in general, a bit brain dead at
present) but you'll initially only need irmanager and possibly irattach.
2.2.12 + irda3 still has some problems which can be resolved using 2.3.x
with more irda patches. Check the list archives from Sept for more
details...
