Yes, thats right. On the Newton runs a program called Sloup. This program
normally works over a standard serial connection (9600 Baud, 8N1). On
the Linux side I can use a standard terminal program as minicom.

I tried both. No success. I have the same behaviour as before, the
Newton software tries to connect, but reached no communication.

I tried also both patches. Without success. My basic problem with obex
is that both programs, irobex_palm3 and irobex_receive end in a core
dump. I understand that the irobex module no longer exists, but are
there any other requirements for the obex prototocol, e.g. special
devices. And which modules must have been loaded for that protocol ?
Please apologize all the lot of question I have to you, but I see
no other chance to get it running without the help of the Linux-IrDA
experts.
