Hi !
I'm new to the list so sorry if this question as been discussed before :)
I just got an infrared module on my asus board... so i wanted to try to
set up my system to be able to sync my palm via infrared and perhaps
have to remote control tv and video recorder via perl CGI... yes, i want
to build some CGI to be able to pre-define unlimited VCR timers because
my VCR does have only room for six timers :-)
But... it doesn't work. I defined IrDA and IrCOMM support in kernel, and
in BIOS i set IrDA to irq 3. The serial manager does find the irq 3 as a
device and does set up /dev/ttyS3 for it, and dmesg shows me the
ircomm_tty as well...
Some hints, perhaps some 'default starting mistakes' for me ?

Regards,

                Frank Altpeter
