I need to have a Palm pilot talk to a linux box over IrDA. The interaction
is that the user holding the pilot approaches the linux box, the linux box
sends it something over the IR link, and the pilot responds with something else.
When I follow the directions in the Documentation and the README files,
I get this annoying "waiting for sender" message appear on my pilot, and no
communication is possible. I understand that this has to do with the
"discovery" feature of irmanager. I also understand that the irda stack on
the linux box has to "discover" the palm (and vice versa) before communication
is possible.
I have occasionally (but not repeatably) been able to get rid of the
"waiting for sender message", at which point I can actually use (again, not
reliably) irobex_palm3 to send and receive stuff from the pilot.
Has *anyone* on this list *ever* had any success with doing obex transfers
to and from palm pilots? Please help!
/ji
