James,
I know this is (very) late, but I've just managed to slow life down for
a little while to catch up with my linux stuff :) I have a libretto
100CT running Toshobe 1.9. I also have a Compaq 1592 which has a 4MB
IrDA port. My experience is that I can only transfer via OBEX at up to
1.5 MBps, so my wish list is that Toshobe 2 does everything that 1.9
does, and works at 4MBps (I am prepared to help here).
As well as this, I've just installed 2.2.13 + irda6 patch and it seems
Dag has introduced a couple of extra features needed for the dongles
that have (not seriously) broken ALL ( I think) the supported chipset
drivers. There is now a message:
"irda_device_change_speed(), do_ioctl not impl. by device driver"
The problem this seems to give if that the speed is changed by
irobex_palm3 (in my case), it does not reset when the connection is
broken. This gives the effect that after doing something at any other
speed than 9600, you cannot discover any other devices.
You can get round it by doing a "ifconfig irda0 down up" so it's not a
show stopper.
My question is: should I try to update toshoboe 1.9, or should I leave
well alone and leave you to put it into 2.x?
