I'm also a non-source-contributing reader of this list and actually can't
understand the worries going on here. Dag is writing this faboulus stuff in his
spare time, for free. As with everything: You get what you pay for!!

My approach for not being disappointed by breaking patches or similar things:
Wait for a patch to ripe two, three days. If there isn't a patch-patch out by
that time, it's considered stable from my side. 

This also covers the fact that I don't have the time to apply EVERY patch Dag
releases.
