I too have been following the Linux-IrDA development for quite some
time.

My 0.02 Euro's worth would be for those who have it working for what
they want to do to NOT follow the patches slavishly.  i.e. follow the
engineering rule: If it ain't broke don't fix it.  That way your
implementation works and Dag can fix up whatever he and the rest are
working on without worrying too much about the rest.  He always gets it
together in the end, and I for one have noticed significant improvements
in the ease of compiling/installation over the past few months.
