Hello,

I just got an Ericsson SH888 because I knew this one was fully supported
by linux (for IR and modem). I tried to make this works but there are some
really weird problems. Here's a list of working / not working things:

* The modem works under Linux when using the RS232 cable and then attaching the
  serial device with irattach.
* The modem and IR connection works under windows without any problem
* When trying to use IR under Linux I can't see SH888 discovery messages with
  irdadump.
* When trying to ping any device with irdaping 0x0 then I get this:

  halley:~ # irdaping 0x0
  IrDA ping (0x00000000): 32 bytes
  32 bytes from 0x207a4ebd: irda_seq=1 time=119.44 ms.

Then I try to ping 0x207a4ebd:

  halley:~ # irdaping 0x207a4edb
  IrDA ping (0x207a4edb): 32 bytes
  32 bytes from 0x207a4ebd: irda_seq=0 time=118.78 ms.

When my SH888 is in the IR field of my laptop it replies to pings,
when I remove it from the field it doesn't.

So, it seems that everything is working excepted the fact that I can't
see the discovery messages from my SH888. When using a SH888 from a friend
I can see those discovery messages.

Does someone know if there are several model of the SH888 ? Does someone
have an idea about this problem ? The weird thing is that I just tried
to make it work under windows (with same hardware) to see if my SH888 had
a problem, however it works perfectly with bill's "os"...

Thanks in advance for any little help with this...

See ya
