The nsc_fir module gave full FIR mode - 9600 bps to 4 Mbps. I expect your
phone might not handle more than SIR mode though. I found that the I/O
chip was the NSC 97338 by examining the pictures at Thomas Buck's page
http://www.et.faveve.uni-stuttgart.de/~tobu/pd1000/ (under PD1000 inside).
It appears that all the Palmax mininotes have the same peripheral hardware
(only different versions of the MediaGX+support chip).
