With kernel 2.2.15pre10 I have finally gotten my HP OmniBook XE to talk to
my Desktop PC.

I have so far used the HP HSDL-2300 dongle with the laptop along with the
nsc-ircc module, and the Desktop PC uses the standard irtty driver to
interface the Asus IR module fitted.

I've managed to get IrLan working properly between the two machines, and
also IrCOMM works a treat talking to a Canon BJC-80 printer from both
machines.

Is there any reason why the irda0 interface is not brought up when I
insert the nsc-ircc module like the irtty one does? Or is this correct
behaviour?

Anyway, great stuff, cheers!

Matt

PS. Next time I'll remember to take down the plip link between the two
machines, they really didn't like that :)
