Hi:

I would be interested to know if anyone else has seen this fault.

I am using an Ericsson I888 with linux IrDA and slip to do data calls.
The data transmissions with IrDA seem to work well, but once the call
has connected, several related things happen:
        - sometimes the phone continues to display "Connecting",
even though the call is functional
        - when "Data..." does appear, the elapsed time counter
does not increment each second. Sometimes sveral
seconds pass between updates. The displayed call duration
                lags behind real time.
        - the frequency of the green LED flash that normally indicates
a network signal becomes very low

and more serious:
        - sometimes the phone does not respond to the final ATH0 and
the call is not discontinued. And if this happens
        - sometimes the keypad becomes totally unresponsive, and the call
can only be broken by removing the battery.

Superficially it looks to me like the processor is flat out processing
data and stops servicing interrupts.

Amyone with related experience or advice?

The phone is only a few months old, has displayed the fault from very
early days, and has been back for service on three occasions with no
evidence of improvement.

Dave
