i recently bought a DELL Latitude CPi A366XT notebook.
it is really awesome, and i got everything but the IrDA working. (i used
linux 2.2.14 with irda-utils 0.9.9) - i tried to debug anything i could,
and even updated the bios (you can switch FIR to SIR in later versions).
all the debugging output looked good, and i was really disappointed, tried
even getting the SMC FIR driver working (which isnt yet ready for DELL note-
books) and searching all the mailinglist archives out there.

i finally got it working with updating to kernel 2.2.15-pre20-irda1 and
irda-utils (in SIR mode of course :-)
this is just for the DELL users out there who encouraged the same problems
as me.
