Hi there,
as I have one of those old Adaptec AIRPort 2000s lying around I
tried compiling the airport module from patch-2.2.14-irda1.gz.
The module compiles with unresolved symbols, which seem to be due
to calling irda_execute_as_process.
Calling irattach -d airport thus causes kernel panic, nasty...
