Hi,
I'm also using an HP Omnibook 2100, I havent managed to get it to work
in FIR mode, even though it is supposed to be an FIR device, but I have
managed to successfully use it in SIR mode using ircomm and mgetty to
provide a remote login to my desktop and to connect to my mobile
(Erriccson with di-28 ir modem).
Go into the BIOS and set it to SIR mode if 115k is enough for you!
