Hi:
I have an issue attaching IrDA to a Motorola L7089 timeport, under
linux... funnily enough *8-) The peripheral information is like this:
Sony Vaio PCG-N505SN
Motorola Timeport L7089
Debian Linux kernel 2.4.0-test4
Irda-common Irda-tools => most recent versions available
The irport and phone have been tested by successfull dialup using
Windoze on the box... the phone and the ir port work.
Under Linux, using either my timeport or one of my colleagues
timeports, the same results appear, as described below.
dmesg output regarding irda:
!!!
nsc-ircc, Found chip at base=0x398
nsc-ircc, driver loaded (Dag Brattli)
IrDA: Registered device irda0
nsc-ircc, Using dongle: IBM31T1100 or Temic TFDS6000/TFDS6500
!!!
/etc/modutils/irda
!!!
alias tty-ldisc-11 irtty
# The following is for new kernel.
alias char-major-161 ircomm-tty
!!!
When I attempt to connect, irdadump produces the following output,
as usual:
!!!
17:42:08.453339 xid:cmd 649a013f > ffffffff S=6 s=0 (14)
17:42:08.543323 xid:cmd 649a013f > ffffffff S=6 s=1 (14)
17:42:08.633328 xid:cmd 649a013f > ffffffff S=6 s=2 (14)
17:42:08.723324 xid:cmd 649a013f > ffffffff S=6 s=3 (14)
17:42:08.813325 xid:cmd 649a013f > ffffffff S=6 s=4 (14)
17:42:08.903322 xid:cmd 649a013f > ffffffff S=6 s=5 (14)
17:42:08.993329 xid:cmd 649a013f > ffffffff S=6 s=* halcyon hint=0400 [
Computer ] (23)
!!!
Actrivating an irda port directly in front of the computer irda port
is not noticed by irrattach.
Any ideas anyone?
thanks,
~cHris
