findchip -v returns nothing, actually a strace shows it does nothing
after ioperm().

But I noticed eth0 uses irq=3.  Excluding this from pcmcia-options
fixed it!  Now I'm happy for the rest of the day B-)))))))))))))))))

I use "setserial /dev/ttyS2 irq 3" in irda/drivers.  Strange setting,
but it's a Compaq.
