well, this can be the point. I couldn't force IrDA to work on my dell
Latitude CPt since kernel version 2.2.16, so I believe, it's time to
upgrade (well, 2.2.5 kernel is REALLY old).
Even though I was able to ping device, I couldn't open ircomm[0,1] device.
