Compile it as modules.

The serial driver has claimed 0x2f8 (see /proc/ioports). Use
$ setserial /dev/ttyS1 uart none

Load the nsc-module with the right dongle type:
$ modprobe -a irda ircomm ircomm-tty
$ insmod nsc-ircc dongle=0x09

Start the device:
$ irattach irda0

SIR is only 115k, VIR is 4M. Has nothing to do with ircomm.
