I'm trying since some time to get my IR-connection with my palm III working again. I had it working in 2.2.15, but had to upgrade to 2.2.18 and it broke it. I unload: rmmod serial and then I load: insmod irda insmod nsc-ircc io=0x02f8 irq=3 When I then do: ifconfig irda0 up then i get the following in syslog: ... Jan 3 21:59:19 matthschulzg kernel: IrDA (tm) Protocols for Linux-2.2 (Dag Brattli) Jan 3 21:59:48 matthschulzg kernel: nsc-ircc, Found chip at base=0x398 Jan 3 21:59:48 matthschulzg kernel: nsc-ircc, driver loaded (Dag Brattli) Jan 3 21:59:48 matthschulzg kernel: IrDA: Registered device irda0 Jan 3 21:59:48 matthschulzg kernel: nsc-ircc, Found dongle: Reserved Jan 3 21:59:48 matthschulzg kernel: nsc_ircc_init_dongle_interface(), Reserved not defined by irda yet Jan 3 22:00:00 matthschulzg kernel: nsc-ircc, unable to allocate irq=0 When I load after that insmod irtty then I get: Jan 3 22:03:01 matthschulzg kernel: Serial driver version 4.27 with no serial options enabled Jan 3 22:03:01 matthschulzg kernel: ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A Jan 3 22:03:01 matthschulzg insmod: /lib/modules/2.2.18/misc/serial.o: post-install serial failed Jan 3 22:03:01 matthschulzg insmod: /lib/modules/2.2.18/misc/serial.o: insmod char-major-4 failed Jan 3 22:03:01 matthschulzg irattach: tcsetattr: Input/output error Any ideas?
