Agreed.

Actually, the lkarmafs fix only needs *additions* to the API rather
than changes. I should have been clearer on that point.
So that shouldn't require a major revision increment.

However, I would like to make some fairly major changes to the API in
order to unexpose the properties list altogether. That will certainly
want to wait until after the release and will warrant a major revision
change. I also want to change the underlying data structures.
