I think that we should use one of the pre-defined properties. We just need to pick a suitable one which isn't currently used. There are a few other properties which I don't know the meaning of. Maybe one of those can be pressed into service. eg. options, bpm, rms, stddev, normalisation. Those are all defined for earlier versions.
