After correcting that (removing this line from preferences.fdi)

And removing a
previous /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/20thirdparty/20-rio-karma.fdi
from which a conflict arised, everything is working fine, even in Ubuntu
Dapper. But I also get the two icons, one (an Ipod and the standard hard
drive). I will look into it, if I can get some logs from g-v-m or
pmount.

I also tried with Edgy (installed through chroot in a breeze, I'm
feeling lucky). It's working after you remove the infos relative to the
karma
in /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-music-players.fdi.
