In the tools directory of receent libkarma versions you have the script 'create_smalldb' which creates an empty index file (var/smalldb), along with a fids directory (fids0/_00000), if needed. This is all what is needed for libkarma to work. Of course, the create_smalldb functionality should eventually go into libkarma proper, but it is not there for now. > > Btw.
