I don't know what it is either, but it looks like some sort of
"keep-alive". Most likely its a complete error. It might even be
a virus or worm on your network.
If you ever figure it out, post the answer please.

Subject: JDK1.3 and Linux and Hotspot

According to the Java site, the hotspot server VM is supposed to be bundled
with the Linux distribution of JDK 1.3. However, when I installed it,
"java -version" only shows that the client hotspot is installed. Anybody
know if the hotspot server vm is included or not, or whether there's
something special that needs to be done?
I know on my Win98 box, I had to install the Hotspot Server VM twice, once
for the SDK and then once for the JRE. Is it possible there's something
like this with Linux?

Thank you for the info. I have 65Meg of ram and I am in the proccess of
upgrading to 128 megs. I think my main problem is my ram because windows
and my browser seems to eat 65 megs up. I am not sure what to do yet, I
thought I would ask around and get some oppinions on it first. I am just
wondering if there was anything better than windows.

mount -tvfat /dev/hda2 /xyz
If that fails, be sure you have vfat filesystem type supported in your
kernel (directly or as a module).

Redhat 7 is in some places binary incompatible with other distributions.
You might ask the Applix people if they have RH 7 binaries.

What is the difference between < mount -tvfat > and < mount -t msdos >?
And if you'd be so kind, what is the correct command for mounting the
cdrom (my /dev/hdd)?

Subject: Big Trouble with Sendmail

My Linux (Slackware 2.0.38) mail server has been partial down all day.
First of all, users keep having trouble logging in from Outlook Express.
They were rejected for putting in "incorrect password". But I have reset
the password many many times. They can even log in from Telnet sessions.
I then deleted the user account and the mail file from the "/var/spool/mail"
directory and recreated the account. Now this user get a different error
message which said something about failing to open "new temporary file" and
was asked "do you own it?". Since it is just a message that Outlook Express
reported, I cannot put in any response.
Does anyone has any clue what is going on? I am desperate for help. Thanks
