  I've done this.

I.  Dosemu-1.1.3 and freedos still crashes while loading vlm:

ERROR: general protection at 0x20360: 50

  If you interesting I can attach debug info, just point me
 to necessary debug options.

II. Dosemu-1.1.3 and drdos-7.03 work until:

1. vlm unload/reload, then hangs (100% CPU, can be killed) or crashes:

2. hangs after some period of inactivity. Can be killed, not loads CPU.
3. crashes in different places while loading or working in FoxPro 2.6/DOS.

  I'm going to try other versions of DOS-programs, maybe they are buggy.
