Hello, I browsed and searched the list archive, but the results were less than satisfactory... so I try it 'actively', asking. Please CC any answer to me because I am checking the list thru the archives... thank you. ...kernel 2.1.124 (and on)... First question: Is there any place containing documentations, faqs, recommendations, ANYTHING about the whole new routing code? This includes policy routing, traffic shaping / queueing, some brief descriptions about 'ip' and 'tc' commands... That info many people here seem to possess but I'm unable to find more than fragments of them... If there isn't any, just tell me, it's a development-in-progress after all... *sigh* (This reminds me that kernel documentation on this topic is badly out of date.) Second is a bit more frustrating. I have a machine sitting on an ethernet, and it supposed to do accounting on the traffic on the ethernet. The interface is promisc, and ipchains is waiting for the packets. As I realized it does not do the accounting at all. Input chain shows me 87654 incoming packets, (in its header, and the number is fairly okay), but the 'catch-all' rule (ipchains -I input -s 0/0 -d 0/0) counts only 86 or them, obviously those directed to the machine itself. Is it possible to account that traffic? (Seems quite hopeless from here where I'm standing.)
